  This Ranch Style Bungalow has all the basics covered for a great farm or acreage home. The roof line features false gables and dormers to give it that country look along with the front & side covered veranda. From the large front entry you can access the office or the kitchen/dining area. This large country kitchen features a walk-in pantry, and lots of counter & cabinet space. The working island also serves as a lunch bar.   The dining area is open to the kitchen & great room and has a double garden door leading out to the side veranda. The great room features a gas fireplace for those cooler nights. There is a vaulted ceiling in these rooms. A two piece bath is conveniently located by the mudroom and garage. 1552 Sq Ft Ranch Style Bungalow: Perfect county style home plan. With straight lines this plan would be simple to build yet it has that great country style look. The Great room features a wood burning stove in the corner for those cold days The large "U" shaped country kitchen also has a large working island with a lunch bar. The vaulted ceiling from the front to the rear of the house over the great room and kitchen nook area. Note the double garden doors leading out to the large rear deck. Moving out to the peace and quiet of the country? Well, we probably have a house plan that you and your family can call home sweet home.  As far as a particular style of home being labelled a country home, (at least in western Canada) just about any style is used. By far, the most common design would be the Bungalow,  Ranch Style and the 2-Storey house plan. Because of extra building space available, you will see homes with 2-4 car attached garages, some of them placed on an angle to the house. A lot people will incorporate a Walkout or Daylight basement, and if the grade is not sloped enough, you will sometimes see retaining walls used. There are a lot of things that people put into the county home that the city dwellers do not, such as Oversized Garages with bigger doors, and for convenience, they put in a 2-piece bathroom in the garage. Even an access to the basement from the Garage (great for bringing in produce from the garden in the fall). On ranches you sometime see a Vet Room in the Garage. In the home, the most used area is the Kitchen and Dining area, so a large country style kitchen open to a dining area is used as that is where most of the day-to-day business is conducted, and where most of the entertaining is done. Large decks & verandas are very common.
